Rebuilding cast iron parts from a sample
We rebuilt worn cast iron parts that had no drawings or 3D models: from the 3D scan to tooling, the first casting and production drawings.
Sample
The client gives us a part — often worn, with no drawings or 3D model.
3D scanning
We scan the part with our own 3D scanner — at our studio or on site at the client’s facility — to get an accurate digital copy of its geometry.
CAD model
From the scan we build a 3D model and restore worn areas to their original shape.
Process and tooling
We agree on the manufacturing process with the client. If we know the process, we design the tooling and help produce it — here, patterns for sand casting. If not, we help find a manufacturer.
First casting
We support the production of the first sample.
Inspection
We scan the finished part and compare it with the CAD model: a deviation map shows where and by how much the part differs from the model.
Drawings
We prepare production drawings for series manufacturing.
