A premium ablution basin — from research to series production.
Brief
Create a premium basin for ablution (taharat): the market only offered budget products.
Design research
The place for taharat is usually a bench by a floor-standing basin with a wall-mounted mixer, so it works both standing and sitting. That is why the basic version comes with a panel for the wall mixer: it simplifies bathroom finishing and makes the product more flexible.
Styling and layout
The design continues an existing series with a distinctive wavy form. The basin can be installed after the bathroom is finished, with no chasing of walls or floor. The modular design kept the packaging minimal.
Mock-up
We showed the first version at an exhibition, and based on the feedback the second one went into production. Later we saw a copy of our first mock-up in a video from a sanitary ware fair in China.
Engineering and supervision
We designed master models for the composite moulds, chose the technology and wall thicknesses and found contractors. We oversaw every stage, from the MDF master model to the finished product with mixer and drain valve. We also ran the photo shoot and prepared sales materials and the installation diagram.
