SilverBoat motorboat
A new composite superstructure for a motorboat, replacing the aluminium one.
Brief
The client gave us the hull lines of an existing boat. The task was to design a new superstructure in composite materials instead of aluminium, following the client’s wishes for appearance and construction.
Design research
We designed the superstructure to the client’s hull lines, using what modern composites offer: they are lighter and stronger, improve aerodynamics and withstand water, sun and other exposure better.
Styling and layout
We followed the client’s wishes on style, equipment and layout: we worked out the position of windows and doors and room for additional equipment.
Engineering
We built a CAD model of the composite superstructure assembled with the hull, and from it the tooling for CNC-machining the parts.
Supervision and result
We supported the production of the pilot boat and solved issues as they came up. The superstructure meets all of the client’s requirements, and the boat has been shown at exhibitions.
